First of all, welcome to 2012. We haven't blogged since last year. Facebook is usually the way to go in updating you on things that are going on.
First and foremost, Loudcity has re designed everything. It makes for a much easier listening experience for you. Simply visit http://www.alternativechicago.info/ and click the Listen button. You'll be taken to our Loudcity page.
On our Loudcity page you will find the following:
1. Choice of players. You can use the Loudcity popout player. Realplayer. Windows Media. iTunes. Winamp. Your choice.
2. You can see the last few songs we played on the bottom right. If you missed beyond that, the PAST LOGS link on our website will take care of you.
3. Facebook is forcing Timeline on all pages now too, not just profiles. We're no exception. I guess we'll have to deal with that. We don't have a choice do we?
Mobile streaming on the TuneIn Radio Apps has not been effected. So listen on your phones, iPods, etc without worry, if anything changes there, we'll be the first to let you know.
Also, we introduced a new feature earlier this year. It's called The 90s @ Night. It runs 7 nights a week from 9PM-Midnight. 90s Alternative galore.
We need your thoughts and suggestions as always. We're listening. You can E-Mail info@alternativechicago.info or leave us a voicemail (773) 770-5344
Rather text? You can also just send a text to (773) 770-5344 with requests, comments and suggestions.
Lastly, tell your friends about us. Spread the word. And keep listening. We're here until we don't have to be here anymore, hopefully when someone launches an alternative station on the FM dial in Chicago, we can take a bow. But that doesn't look to be happening in the near future. So for now, we're doing our best to fill the void.
We play the best Alternative from the 80s-Current, and more new music than that other internet stream.
We also added weather forcasts for those who want to know what the weather will do.
In addition, we try to relay Amber Alerts and other emergencies when they are brought to our attention.
This is how a radio station should serve it's community. Caring about the listeners, playing good music, and keeping them informed at the same time.
Here's to a great 2012. We'll turn 1 year old this June 30th.
